Kaizen, a word taken from the Japanese language that means continuous improvement, either of self or organisation. For me, this word embodies the philosophy of both St John’s and the people that hold classes and workshops here.
The 7th Principle of Spiritualism is eternal progress open to every human soul. Spiritual progress is not an overnight enlightenment but a slow unfoldment of the gifts and abilities
bestowed upon us by the spirit world.
Developing our connection and refining our techniques is our responsibility.
Eternal progress implies that we have the opportunity to keep learning, in this world and in the spirit world.
If we stop learning, content that the level that we have reached is good enough, are we not blocking our own
progress? Limiting the expression of our spiritual gifts?
Spirit knows what gifts are available to each of us and when our souls are ready to receive them. They open up to us as we open ourselves up to Spirit. As we become more open, our souls’ expression has more influence in our everyday lives. We live a happier, more heart centred life, a spiritual life, a life that honours both spirit and the contract that we came here to fulfil.
